Title: How reliable is the manual transmission on Toyota Corolla models?
Threaded Mode
#1
Anyone here driving a Corolla with a manual transmission? I’m seriously considering picking one up because, honestly, I just love the feel of a stick shift—it makes driving so much more engaging. But before I commit, I’m curious how reliable the manual transmission is on these models. I’ve driven automatics my whole life, but I want something more fun this time around.

For those of you with manual Corollas, how’s the long-term reliability? Any common problems I should be aware of? I’m particularly wondering if things like the clutch or gearbox tend to wear out faster than expected, especially if the car is used for daily driving. Also, is the shifting smooth, or does it feel clunky over time?

I know Toyota has a solid reputation for reliability, but I haven’t heard much about the manuals specifically. Any maintenance tips or things to look out for would be awesome! I’d hate to grab one and end up with transmission issues that I could’ve avoided. So, what’s the verdict—are these as bulletproof as the automatics, or should I think twice before going manual? Let me know your thoughts!
