I’m thinking about upgrading the muffler on my 2020 Toyota Corolla to get a bit more sound, but I don’t want it to be obnoxiously loud. I’m looking for something that adds a nice, deep growl without waking up the whole neighborhood every time I start the car. I’ve heard that some aftermarket mufflers can even give a slight performance boost by improving exhaust flow, but I’m mostly focused on the sound.
Does anyone have recommendations for a muffler that strikes a good balance between aggressive and classy? I don’t want that high-pitched, raspy tone that some exhausts have—just something a little throatier than stock. Also, how was the install process? Did you need any additional parts, or was it pretty straightforward? I’m not trying to do a full exhaust system swap, so I’m hoping this will be a quick, easy upgrade that makes the car sound more exciting without breaking the bank. Would love to hear what’s worked for other Corolla owners, especially if you’ve kept it practical for daily driving!
