Alright, so I’m diving into my first oil change on my 2016 Toyota Corolla with the 1.8L 4-cylinder engine. I’m a bit nervous because I don’t wanna mess anything up, especially when it comes to tightening the oil drain plug. I’ve seen so many different torque specs floating around online—some say 20 ft-lbs, others say 30, and I really don’t wanna strip the threads by overtightening it (that’s the nightmare scenario, right?).
Can anyone confirm the exact torque spec for the oil drain plug on this year and engine? I’m using a torque wrench to be safe, but I just wanna make sure I’m not setting myself up for disaster here. If anyone’s done this on their 2016 Corolla, I’d appreciate the advice! Thanks in advance, and wish me luck on this oil change adventure!
